Join Katie Trautz for a series of fiddle classes, COVID safe and outdoors, this summer. Katie plans to teach intermediate/advanced players fiddle tunes from old-time and Cajun traditions. Each class will focus on a couple of tunes, bowing styles, ornamentation, and technique associated with those tunes. Students must be able to learn by ear, but a recording device (such as an iphone or handheld recorder) is encouraged. The tunes are taught in segments and slowed down to an accessible speed. Learning in a group can be fun and inspiring, with little pressure and enough material to keep you playing for months to come.
