Join us for our first Cabot Arts reemergence event of the season!

Grounded in the Appalachian fiddle tradition, The Moon Shells draw on musical traditions from Louisiana, West Africa, and Eastern Europe. They create a fusion of traditional oldtime stringband music with deep rhythms and joyful songwriting.

This event is a combined concert and fiddler’s gathering campout hosted at the scenic Catamount Airfield in Lower Cabot, VT. Bring lawn chairs and a picnic for the show. Bring tents, sleeping bags, instruments and supplies to stay for the night! 

What To Expect - What To Bring

 

​If you're just coming out for the concert:

  • Concert Starts at 4pm - Concludes at 6:30pm

  • Bring Lawn Chairs and a Picnic + Blanket

​If you're coming out for the Jamming + Campout:

  • Arrive anytime after 12 noon on Saturday

  • Bring Tent and/or Canopy

  • Folding Chair for Jamming

  • Sleeping Bags, Food, Cooler

  • Personal Light/Lantern, Sundry Supplies

  • BYOB (No glass containers, please)

On site, there will be:

  • Campfire

  • Cooking grill

  • Inclement weather shelter  (two, small airplane hangers)

  • Port-a-pottie

  • Potable water

On site, there will not be:

  • abundant electricity (generator will be in use for concert and some lighting only)

How To Get Here

Under Orion Farm 1009 Ducharme Rd. in Lower Cabot, VT

To Rte. 215 

  • From the South - take Rt. 2 to Marshfield, turn north onto Rt. 215

  • From the North - take Rt. 15 to Walden then turn south onto Rt. 215

From Rte. 215 in Lower Cabot (see map)

  • Turn onto Ducharme Rd.

  • Go 1 mile to Under Orion Farm

  • Proceed to the (signed) dirt road to the Right

  • Go .4 miles up the hill (follow the "S" turn)

  • You're there!

 

Regarding RV's:

  • RV's are welcome except  in the event of a lot of rain.                                 No one want's to get stuck in the mud!

  • Note: there are no hook-up's
